We are excited to announce that Walk Safely to School Day is coming up on Friday 16 May!
This nationwide event encourages students, families, and school communities to enjoy the benefits of walking to school, promoting healthier habits, road safety awareness, and environmental care.
Here’s how you can get involved:
🚶♂️ Walk with your child to school on the day.
🚌 Join one of our Walking School Buses – supervised group walks from designated locations (details to follow soon!).
💬 Talk to your child about road safety and the importance of active travel.
Walking, even part of the way, helps build healthy habits and supports a cleaner environment for everyone. Plus, it’s a great way to connect with other families and start the day with some fresh air and fun!
☕ We’re also pleased to share that a coffee van will be available near the school gates for parents to purchase a morning drink.
A perfect way to reward yourself after the walk!
A reminder about walking safely:
- Children up to eight years old should hold an adult’s hand on the footpath, in car parks, or when crossing the road. An adult can be a parent, caregiver, grandparent, high school-aged sibling or older, other relative, neighbour, or another adult nominated by the child’s parents/carers.
- Children up to ten years old should be actively supervised in traffic environments and should hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road.
We look forward to seeing as many families as possible getting involved.
