DESCRIPTION:Students will walk down the street to participate in a workshop at the newly opened park where the Subiaco Community Centre once stood. The Rupert Street Pocket Park workshop links to the Year 5 HASS (Geography) curriculum through its focus on how people influence and manage environments in sustainable ways. Students will explore how local governments and communities make decisions about land use\, biodiversity\, and environmental sustainability through the development of a local public space. The workshop provides a real-world example of sustainable environmental management within the local community.
