Wednesday Before School + Library + Deposit = Rewards
When: Wednesday mornings
Time: 8:15am – 8:45am
Where: School Library
Operated by Commonwealth Bank, the program aims to teach our children about money management and the importance of saving. The program offers fun rewards to encourage saving behavior as well as providing bonus interest when children make a deposit but no withdrawals in a month. It also generates financial benefits for the school via commission on monies deposited and a fee for every account activated. If you would like to read more about the program go to www.commbank.com.au/schoolbanking.
For every deposit made at school, no matter how big or small, students will receive a cool Dollarmites token. Once students have individually collected 10 tokens they can redeem them for an exclusive School Banking reward item in recognition of their continued savings behaviour.
Our school earns 5% commission on every deposit made (to a maximum of $10 per individual deposit).
How To Get Your Child Started?
It is easy to get started all you need to do is set your child up with a Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account. You can do this in one of three ways:
- Online or via your mobile phone – go to commbank.com/schoolbanking and navigate to the ‘Open Now’ button. If you are an existing Commonwealth Bank customer, you will be directed to log in via NetBank.
- In Branch – Visit a Commonwealth Bank branch with identification for you and your child (i.e. Driver’s License with photo ID for you, and Birth Certificate for you child). The Subiaco Branch is ready and waiting for students to open accounts. It usually takes about 15 minutes to set up an account for your child.
- Over the Phone– call 13 2221 to open an account over the phone.
Calling For School Banking Volunteers – We Need Your Help!
Our students really enjoy participating in the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program that we operate at school and to keep this program running we need your help.
Are you available every second Wednesday from 8.00am to 8:45am to assist? The program requires co-ordinators to facilitate the banking and distribution of School Banking rewards. This only takes a small amount of time with support in running the program provided by Commonwealth Bank and your fellow banking coordinators. Your help with the program will greatly benefit students as they develop vital saving skills and also help our school with fundraising.
This is a very rewarding volunteer activity. We love seeing the excitement of the children when depositing their 20c and 50c coins, while learning the value and discipline of saving.
To find out more pop in on a Wednesday morning for a chat with Nicole, Patrick, Natasha, Chris or Sharon or contact Nicole on email@example.com for more information.
